Use the pre-writing technique called Clustering (see p. 72-73 in AW) to prepare for tomorrow's in-class graded descriptive writing assignment. Once you have picked your topic from the list on pg. 73, decide how it makes you feel. You will base your description on supporting/explaining this feeling.(Note: You can't write about your bedroom because we already did this.) Be sure to plan ahead to choose vocabulary you will need to describe this feeling and the location of things in this place. What sensory language will you need? Look these words up in a dictionary. Learn them. You cannot use a dictionary tomorrow and I will not tell you the meaning of words. Plan tonight so that you already know what words describe how you feel in that place, what things look like, how they smell, sound, taste, and feel. You don't need to include vocabulary that describe all five senses but at least 2 or 3 of them. The more you can include, the more descriptive your paragraph will be. Be on time tomorrow. We will do this first in class.
